Certificate IV in Irrigation Management

Our Certificate IV in Irrigation Management is a nationally accredited course, tailored to deliver a multi-platform learning experience, reflecting the technical, supervisory and operational skills as an Irrigation specialist.

This qualification reflects the technical and supervisory skills and knowledge required to operate as supervisors and specialists within the irrigation industry. It applies to irrigation installation site managers and managers of irrigation systems in the irrigation servicing, horticulture and agriculture industries.

Meter Installation & Validation

Our Meter Installation and validation course is nationally accredited and offers candidates the skills and knowledge to become an irrigation meter installer and validator. This training course provides a hands-on learning experience and in-field assessment on candidates skill and knowledge in accordance with the Australian standard AS4747, when installing and validating non-urban water meters in rural environments.

Storage Meter Installer and Validator

In order to install and validate water storage meters, you must become qualified and certified as a Storage Meter Installer & Validator (CSV). The NSW Government requires that approved storage water meters be installed where a landowner holds a floodplain harvesting access license. This course covers how to select water storage meters, data loggers and telemetry systems and the installation, commissioning/maintenance and validation of water storage meters.

Irrigation Systems Efficiency

This course is designed to provide candidates the knowledge and ability to become an Irrigation Efficiency professional which is aligned with and assessed against the AHCS00100 - Irrigation Systems Efficiency Skill Set. Candidates will be required to put to practice designing, operating and maintaining irrigation efficient system, in their own workplace environment.

Irrigation Installer

The Irrigation Installer course reflects the skills and knowledge required to become a Certified Irrigation Installer (CII).

Our training course provides an in-depth irrigation training program that is aligned with and assessed against the AHCSS00096 - Irrigation Installer Skill Set, which forms part of our Certificate III in Irrigation Technology AHC32419 (Trade Level) qualification. This training course will be presented by highly experienced and qualified professionals who are actively working in leading organisations of the industry. The program also engages subject matter experts for specialised topics such as hydraulics, troubleshooting, and basic irrigation design, to name a few.

Electrofusion & Butt Welding

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to weld polyethylene (PE) plastic pipes using electrofusion. It applies to welding of pipes and pipelines undertaken in the field and in factory conditions. Pipelines may be for transmission of water, gas or other liquids. Irrigation Australia will deliver this training in support of using product and equipment provided by Vinidex. This Partnership combines Vinidex’s industry knowledge and experience with Irrigation Australia’s ability to deliver high quality nationally accredited qualifications and courses.

Our Irrigation Systems Auditor training course is nationally accredited and offers candidates the skills and knowledge to become a Certified Irrigation Systems Auditor as per skill set AHCSS00099 Irrigation Systems Auditor. This skill set provides the skills and knowledge required to assess irrigation systems and site operations, collect and manage data, analyse and present research information, and prepare irrigation systems audit reports within the irrigation industry.

Learn about the irrigation software and design tools and take your skills to the next level

Urban Irrigation Design

An entry-level domestic irrigation design program suited to participants that work in irrigation and landscape sales. Also suits installers and irrigation system operators and/or managers interested in the basics of irrigation system designs. Participants of this program will be taken through the steps required for a residential irrigation system design, including a material list costing.

Commercial Irrigation Design

A mid-level parkland / football field sized irrigation hydraulics and design program. Suited to urban domestic irrigation system designers or technicians looking to take the next step in irrigation system design processes. Also suited to irrigation project supervisors responsible for checking and/or selecting the best irrigation design for their field. You should have a base level of experience in Irrigation system components and principles or have completed an Urban Irrigation Design course.

IRRICAD Design

This course will equip students with a basic knowledge to plan and produce an irrigation design from base climatic and crop information, utilising IRRICAD hydraulic software. Students will be led through the layout and hydraulic design processes. IRRICAD operational commands and database product management will also be addressed to ensure the design is accurate. Plan finalisation and professional finishes form the final part of this industry relevant course. Drip Irrigation and Sprinkler Irrigation designs will be central to the training program. You must have a minimum of 2 years experience in Irrigation system design/ hydraulics. Students will be required to use the IRRICAD Software. This can be sourced through your own IRRICAD Dongle or by using a temporary IRRICAD Licence through Irrigation Australia.
