1. Important Irrigation Australia Updates

Following our Annual General Meeting on 25 October, we are pleased to announce the Directors who have filled the vacant board positions. They are:

Simon Treptow (re-elected)
Peter Brueck (re-elected)
Clinton Hort (new)
Gennaro Velotti (new)
Paul Smith (new)

Simon Treptow was re-elected Chair and Val Tripp was re-elected as Deputy Chair at the board meeting following the AGM.

This link will take you to a new version of the Irrigation Australia strategic plan. The changes at this point are simply to update and refresh, with a more significant update expected in 2024. A review of our Constitution during 2024 was also announced at the AGM.

We again acknowledge the efforts of retiring Director Andrew Ogden over many years but also the support and advice of Momir Vranes over the last 8 years. Momir will continue to support the Australian National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage and as this is released is representing our Association at the 25th ICID International Congress in India.

In addition, it’s important to acknowledge Geoff Harvey’s 8 years of service to your Association. Geoff has been instrumental in developing and delivering our Training and Certification programs as well as establishing many key partnerships. We wish him the best in his future endeavours.

6. Member Announcement - Powell Industrial joins Motion Team, AIP

Motion Asia Pacific is delighted to announce that Powell Industrial will join the Motion Team.

Motion is the largest distributor of bearings, power transmission, hose & fittings, fluid power and industrial products across Asia Pacific and has recently completed a Share Sale Agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in Bayset Powell Group Pty Ltd.

Powell Industrial will largely continue to operate as it does today with minimal changes for the team.
